Good Glass

Products in Uganda made from discarded glass bottles. We purchased a set of glasses made from recycled material; although we know it's for a good cause, we have to be honest -- the main reason we purchased them is because they look cool!

Flock of Birds

A social enterprise targeting youth unemployment in Uganda. They have products for local and international markets. A lot of their stuff is unique and cute!

An Oddity or Two

Neat little ornaments, magnets, jewelry, prints ... My favourite: the Edgar Allan Poe earrings and broach I purchased. Because I want to be *that* English teacher.

Embellish Jewelry

Affordable, unique jewelry handmade by one of the most creative women I know. I love the wire wrapped earrings and pendants!

Spay Day HRM

This is the organization we went through to foster cats. They do great work in the Halifax area! It is through them that we got our current foster cat, Delilah -- the most personable (bordering on emotionally needy) cat I've ever met.

Mission of Mercy

This organization was started by Mark Buntain, a Canadian missionary to India. When I was in grade 4 I read Buntain's autobiography and it had a great impact on me. As a teenager I got to meet his widow, Huldah Buntain. I have sponsored a little girl in India through Mission of Mercy for several years now.
